Michael McLean's The Forgotten Carols
We've been working with Michael McLean for about six years or so. Our first show with Michael was in 1998,
mixing sound for his and Kevin Kelly's musical, The Ark, at the Utah State Fair Grounds in Salt Lake City.
We've since done the show for two other runs at Thanksgiving Point, in Lehi. The first was in 1999,
where we transformed a large tent into a full-fledged theater in a dry, dusty parking lot. The other,
in 2002, was in the beautiful Barn at Thanksgiving Point.
Deseret Book contracted with AnderSound in the fall of 2000 to be the first sound company to tour with
The Forgotten Carols. We've done the tour every season since, taking the show to about 50,000 people
every year in about a dozen cities throughout the West. In 2001, Michael was invited to take the show
to Washington D.C. for the families of the September 11th victims. We presented five shows at the
Washington D.C. LDS Temple Visitors Center, where people literally slept outside to get their
no-cost tickets. We've enjoyed working with Michael and the McLean's along with Katie Thompson
on several projects and always look forward to the next ones.
Jericho Road
In 2001 the group Jericho Road took the local music scene by storm. These high energy,
high production performers have dazzled audiences all over the country. When Shadow Mountain Records,
Deseret Book's record label asked these a cappella singers to change their look and sound, they called
AnderSound Professional Audio to handle the complex sound demands. We were excited to work with
Justin Smith, Dave Kimball, Abe Mills, and Bret Bryce because we had all worked and toured together
in other capacities a few years before. In the last few years we've been with them on two major
western tours, as well as dozens of TV appearances and concerts that took us from San Diego to
Calgary, Sacramento to Knoxville, Tennessee.
Cherie Call
Cherie Call is one of the industry's most talented singer-songwriters. As Cherie's first CD's were
taking off, she often opened for Utah County-based band, Mulberry Drive. It was at such concerts
that AnderSound began working with Cherie. We've provided sound for her for almost 10 years!
Since then she's released five great CD's and has been featured on several more. We've always
loved working with Cherie. Our owner was so smitten by her that he married her!
Ryan Shupe and the Rubberband
We've had a few opportunities to work with Ryan Shupe, Roger Archibald, Craig Miner, Bart Olsen,
and Colin Botts over the years. We've been on the road with them a handful of times and have
really enjoyed it. We had a great time competing with millions of cicadas during their concert
in the Albuquerque Zoo! Keep your eyes on these guys and catch their act whenever you get the
chance, because when you see them on MTV, their live show won't be as easy to catch!
Brigham Young University
AnderSound owner Joe Anderson has worked with the BYU performing groups over the years. They've
taken him across the country and back several times and have carried him to as far off places as
Vietnam, Malaysia, Hong Kong, China, Singapore, Thailand, the Philippines, Morocco, Tunisia,
South Africa, Botswana, and Swaziland. Whew! That's a full passport! Believe us when we say
he's seen it all!
